30th Wedding Anniversary

My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary and she was expecting to be taken out for the customary meal. The problem was where to go! We usually visit a restaurant somewhere with the extended family, comprising our 3 sons plus assorted wives and girlfriends…however this year there was also a 7 month old granddaughter to consider. A short conversation with Lynne Wardale at Tall Hats Catering and Events convinced me that the perfect solution was to have a gourmet meal cooked at home. And what a good decision that was! After an afternoon out on the town and a rare visit to the movies, Jackie andI arrived home to be met by the whole family and thetable beautifully laid for dinner. After some delicious canapes and Prosecco, we sat down to a fabulous 3 course meal finishing with coffee and complimentary home made chocolate brownies topped with raspberries (Tall Hats signature “dish”). I can wholeheartedly recommend the Tall Hats team who will provide the perfect night in – dining in is definitely the new eating out!

Amazing 80th Birthday celebrations

Wow, what a fantastic evening on Saturday night! We were privileged to be asked to cater for the celebrations at St Johns House, Winchester for a very special 80 year old. Lovely guests, amazing musical performances, magic, fabulous flowers by the Blooming Workshop and, if I may say so, fantastic food produced by the team led by David and Victoria. Late night but worth it for the fulsome praise that we received by not only from the hosts but also their guests…

A Huge “Thank You”

Dear Tall Hats team, just a quick note to say a huge “thank you” for all that you did for our wedding in October. Everyone had the most fantastic day and the food was delicious. In particular the vegetarian guests commented that their meal was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. We are so grateful for all your help with the planning, and in particular your calmness on the day Lynne!

Gorgeous Barn Wedding

So, the sun shone for the lovely wedding of Dan and Hannah on Saturday with the reception in beautiful Norman Court Barn, Upper Clatford. Roast Beef with all the trimmings followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding or Apple Tart or Baked Vanilla Strawberry Shortcake, and then a fab evening spread designed to keep the guests going to the end of the evening…some interesting times with the electrics, but the ever practical Head Chef was soon flicking switches and swapping round cookers and hot cabinets. As outside Caterers, resourcefulness is an asset!

Sardinian Themed Wedding

We are getting very excited about the Sardinian themed wedding for Gemma and Tom on Saturday, in a beautiful marquee in the heart of the New Forest. Four courses starting off with Anti Pasta including Italian cured meats, Aubergine hearts, Roasted Peppers, Olives, special Sardinian bread, followed by a Sardinian pasta dish “Malloreddus alla Campi Danese” …then if the guests have room, slow cooked Loin of Hampshire pork finishing with Prosecco jellies topped with Pomegranates seeds – even we are drooling.
